THE MONTH IN A REVIEW: SEPTEMBER 2015

September for me was such a great month. I did so many things this month and it is officially now the most productive month this year for me. Here are a list of things I was able to achieve this September:

1. First of all, I finally managed to stay on point with the blog schedule overcoming all the hurdles and now I know how much being consistent on the blog pays off. Because I had my internals in the mid of September, I decided to bank some posts so that I don't have to struggle with again being irregular. It worked so well for me and so this is what I am going to do for every month that I blog. It just makes it so easy and the whole process is a lot less tiresome.

2. I aced all my internals which is another goal checked off my list. Internals are the easiest way to get the upper hand on your over all score and so it is really important to score as much as possible. I know this is a lifestyle blog but hey a little educational tip doesn't hurt anyone.

3. This is also the month where I was the most consistent about my fitness journey. I have never been this serious about it before but I guess losing my breath over just a couple of flight of stairs was a real wake up call. One confession is that I haven't been able to gain control over my eating habits so I can't see a major difference in my weight but this is a major goal I have in my mind for October.

4. One of the most happiest moments for me was when I hit a 100 followers on Twitter. It does not mean that I believe in a number game but I still consider it a milestone for my blogging journey. It's like a payday when you finally get the worth of all your hard work. A bit sentimental but I guess that's how I would describe the feeling.

I am so happy with the way September turned out and I am so excited about October to start.

What were your special moments this past month?
Share them with me in the comments below.

Until next time,

NAIL POLISH CLEAR OUT!

I have an addiction with all types of Nail Polishes (except the real hard glitter one) and I would like to blame it all on Vivianna  and Lily. They have the most amazing nail polish collection ever and boy! do I always wait for them to post about their latest nail polish love. This post is totally inspired from Lily Pebbles' Nail Polish Clear Out post. Now my collection is not as huge as hers but being a beauty blogger it is really important to get rid of some things after a while. Especially nail polishes because they tend to go thick and dry and all kinds of crazy. So I figured it was time to make way for some new nail polishes in my collection.

I decided to throw some which I know are not going to work at all and some I decided to give away to my friends.

So this is my well loved nail polish collection. I won't do a detailed post on it just because it would be too long and uninteresting. Maybe when I decide to start a YouTube channel, I'll do a video about it.

Keeping this post to the point, I decided to get rid of these four nail polishes because I know I am not going to get any use out of them anymore. I am giving the Sally Hansen one to my friend but the other three have gone too thick for anybody to use it.

How big is your nail polish collection?
Let me know in the comments down below.

CULOTTES CRAZY!

Culottes were huge this year. With bloggers and celebrities rocking them, they became quite popular as the shorter version of palazzo among the public. If you are all about rocking new up and coming trends then you may have seen quite a few versions of these around. They come from ankle length to just below the knee length. You can wear any colour you want, team it up with a shirt, a crop top or even a basic camisole. You can rock them with flats, wedges, heels or sneakers. As I always say for me fashion is and will always be wearing trends in a way that suits my comfort level.

Here are some of the best Culottes looks that I love:

Have you tried this trend yet? Let me know how would you style these yourself in the comments below.

MAYBELLINE THE NUDES PALETTE

I am a self confessed lover of all things that come in a palette. For me it's the easier way to carry around a couple dozen shades without the fear of losing some or leaving them all over the place (I do it a lot). Also they look really good in a picture. But seriously, I love palettes. The makeup scene in India, though finding it's pace, still lacks awareness. So you can understand when I was shocked that Maybelline decided to bring out The Nudes Palette to India. It was an instant success with everyone going gaga over it. So naturally I had to get my hands on it too. It has got 12 beautiful shades, some shimmery and some matte. My most favourite shade is the second one from left in the second line and the black one in the same line too. Those two work together amazingly well for a perfect smokey eye. The size of the palette is perfect for travelling. I just wish it had a mirror too. Other than that this is as best as the drugstore palettes get. I hope they bring out The Blushed Nudes palette and The Smokes palette soon to India.

Have you given the palette a try yet? Let me know your thoughts on it in the comments below.

Until next time.

PINSPIRED: WHITE NAILS

White nails have been a beauty trend which sounds so simple but is one of the hardest to maintain. I have tried to sport them a couple of times but I ruined it both the times just because it's just so hard. Though, I am not giving up anytime soon and so I took inspiration from these beautiful pictures I found on Pinterest. There are so many ways to rock the trend: you can add glitter to it, or try the marble manicure, add thin gold or black stripes or go all white!

My personal favourite is the one with the tiny thin gold stripes. Looks so elegant though I wouldn't agree with the length of the nails.

I hope you find some new tricks from this post.

Until next time.

WHY GREEN TEA IS SO GOOD!

I was never a huge fan of drinking green tea everyday. I had tried it in the past and thought it was way out of my taste. But then I read somewhere that once you add honey to it, it becomes worthy of drinking. So ever since I try my level best to have two full mug cups of it everyday. I have been drinking it since about a month now, and I am so happy to say that it makes my skin glow, doesn't make me bloat and it just feels so nice!

Since I have been experiencing quite a few benefits, I thought I would share some other ones with you:

1. Strengthens the immune system

2. Lowers cholesterol

3. Lowers high blood pressure

4. Helps reduce inflammation

5. Aids proper digestion

6. Promotes respiratory health

7. Anti-bacterial properties

8. Helps clear up acne

9. Lowers blood sugar

10. Helps in reducing weight

I hope this post helps you to know a little more about the goodness of green tea.

Until next time.

L'OREAL MAT MAGIQUE

For a beauty blogger, I am quite picky about the products that I use. I won't just buy every new release just for the sake having new content on the blog. Most of the time I stick to what I love and I think is going to work probably a 100%. But, I have been feeling a bit experimental. And so I have decided to keep trying new things, but not to buy absolutely everything that's releasing. I have always found setting powders quite fascinating. I feel like they are crucial when it comes to completing your makeup. They help you keep everything in place throughout the day. So when L'oreal decided to release a new one in the market, I had to buy it (also because it looks so pretty).I have got the shade G1 Vanilla Ivory. It comes in a decent sized compact packaging with the mirror on the other side of the powder. It also comes with an application sponge. It also contains SPF 34 PA +++ which is absolutely ideal for Indian weather. When I tried applying with a brush, I got way too much product on and it looked cakey (which is my absolute nightmare). So the next day I decided to use it with the sponge that it comes with, and oh my god! how good did it make me look! You will have to touch up your makeup in about every 3-4 hours but I think that's okay. Overall for me it gives a good enough quality and quantity for Rs. 399.

Have you tried it yet? Or do you have another one that you absolutely love?

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

New York Fashion Week is probably one of the most awaited fashion events of the year. Worldly known brands showcase their latest designs, it's like attending a big party with different venues for a whole week. You spot bloggers, celebrities, media personalities and anyone who's important enough. The best part for me is to see how different bloggers style their outfits and find inspiration from them. Today I am sharing with you some of my most loved looks by my favourite bloggers from this year's New York Fashion Week.

KAYTURE by KRISTINA BAZAN

SONG OF STYLE by AIMEE SONG

CAMILA FIGUEIREDO COELHO

SAZAN BARZANI

There are so many more looks that I loved but if I decided to put them all in one post it would probably consist atleast a 100 pictures. But I decided to narrow it down to my absolutely loved looks so it's easier to post about them.

Until next time,

MY NEW YOGA MAT

If you are following me on Snap Chat (id: stayinoui) then you would know that I have taken up yoga as my daily workout. I tried going to the gym for about 15 days but to be honest gym is not for me. I think it's really boring and I feel really stressed out after gym for some reason. I used to do yoga a couple of years ago and I find it the best way to get a quick workout in the morning. There's a post coming super soon as to whom do I follow for my everyday Yoga.

I didn't get a yoga mat for the initial days of the month. But as soon as the poses started getting challenging, that's when I decided to go and buy one. I looked at a couple of places, but finally found one on Flipkart. I think I got it for around 650 Rs. which I think is pretty reasonable. It is the 12 mm one, and it provides excellent grip.

So far I am loving yoga and shall be back with a review on it at the end of the month.

Until next time.

PINSPIRED: HOME OFFICE

Being a blogger part time or full time means that most of your time is spent working from home. For me it is really important to have a clean space for me to work at. I try to make is as pretty and pleasing to the eyes as possible. Though I am not there yet to call it a proper home office, today I would like to share some of the pictures that I personally find inspiration from:

Hope you guys find some inspiration like I did too.

REVLON PARFUMERIE

So this summer I was in love with the white nails trend, but being the super clumsy person that I am, I ruined it either the very hour or maximum by the end of the day. But because I was loving the trend so much, I thought I would swap White with the next best colour Yellow. And now how happy I am.
So while searching for the perfect Yellow I came across the whole range of Revlon Parfumerie. I was aware of the range but somehow resisted due to the price tag. But this time I wanted a Yellow colour and so I decided to kill two birds with one stone. I got to try the Yellow as well as the Revlon Parfumerie range.

I loved it so much that I went in and bought another colour which too represents summer. I might give the autumnal shades a try on my next buy. The formula for these is pretty great and they do smell amazing. Although you shouldn't expect the scent to last forever. It stays there for a maximum of three days. I have got the shades Sunlit Grass and Orange Blossom. The packaging is so on point as they obviously look like little bottles of perfumes. I now do understand the Rs. 350 price tag. I actually want to only own these nail polishes and throw away all the other ones that I have. But one can only dream for a certain things right?

#INOUITIP: You want to makes sure that it is completely dry before you set out to do any work. Also, never apply a nail paint right before you're about to go to bed.

Until next time.

NEW IN HAIR PRODUCTS

If you have been a reader for quite sometime now, you'll know that I am obsessed with my hair. After you'll be all glammed up but your hair isn't behaving properly then you might as well sit at home and chill. I try not to change my shampoo and conditioner as much. But I love trying new hair masks, serum and everything else in between.

I recently bought two new products: one I like to use as a mask and the other one I like to use as a deep conditioner. I use both on a once a week basis.

1. GARNIER OIL IN CREAM: As the name suggests, it acts as an oil for your hair but obviously in a cream form. What I like about this is that it is not as heave as other hair masks are and a little goes a long way with this product. So all you do is apply it exactly like how you would apply oil in your hair, massage it gently and leave it for as long as you like before washing your hair.

#INOUITIP: If you want the beach hair look even after washing your hair just wait for it to air dry and then go through it with a brush or comb or whatever you use.

2. MACADAMIA DEEP REPAIR MASK: Now I know it says 'mask' here clearly but I love it more as a deep conditioner once a week after shampooing. I works really well for hair that tends to get frizzy and dry after about a day of washing. It also makes your hair 10 times softer. The only thing I have a problem with is that it has a very strong scent something which I dislike a lot in skincare and hair care products. Just apply it on your roots and make sure you don't leave it on for more than 5 mins because otherwise it might result in your hair getting greasy after a day or two.

#INOUITIP: For that best hair in the world feeling, blow-dry your hair after you wash your hair with this. You would love the results.

Lots more coming on to the blog soon.

Until next time.

ITS OVERALLS ALL OVER AGAIN!

I know how cheesy the title sounds but hey I am pretty proud of it. So until you have been living under a rock since the past year and a half then you would be well aware of the 90s fashion making rounds again. We have had the crop top frenzy since about 3 years now and then we went crazy over overalls or dungarees (whatever you know them as) and now we are transitioning into the bell bottoms again.

Today I have some of my most loved overalls looks:

Wearing only denim overalls is not the only way to rock the trend. There are various other forms like  wearing it the skirt style, leather ones, short, long, printed, with a crop top, or a shirt.. the possibilities are endless. Fashion is not about following trends, it's about rocking those trends the way it suits you.

I have been meaning to add a style section to my blog since so long and I am so happy that I have finally included it. I will be posting about my personal style in a couple of months time. Till then I will be sharing with you all of my style inspirations on the blog.

Until next time.
